About Us

Our History

Butera Market, a family-owned full-service supermarket, was founded in 1963 as Fair Share Finer Foods. In 1968, the name was changed to Butera Finer Foods, and in the early 2000s we transitioned to the Butera Market name. Butera Market became Chicagoland’s low-price leader.

In addition to providing great values to our customers, Butera Market offered a wide variety of farm-fresh produce and a great selection of imported and domestic items from our delicatessen, dairy, and grocery departments, creating a truly unique shopping experience that was not available at other stores.

Our bakery department baked a wide variety of breads and pastries daily, and our meat department offered a wide selection of fresh, lean Choice meats and seafood items at everyday low prices to meet your family’s daily needs.

At Butera Market, we took pride in offering quality products and friendly service at a price our customers could enjoy.
