After 63 years, Monday, August 10, 2026, was the last day for Butera Market at our final store and headquarters in Elgin at Clock Tower Plaza. Over the years, we operated more than 50 stores in neighborhoods throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. At our peak, we had 27 different locations and had grown to become the third largest chain behind Jewel-Osco and Dominick’s.
We know that none of what we built over those years could have happened without our loyal customers, our corporate supervisors, administrative staff, store managers, department heads, and all of our other dedicated employees. We would also like to thank our suppliers, brokers, sales representatives, and contractors. We are grateful for the part each of you played in Butera Market and for the relationships we built along the way.
